Brown-Westhead, Moore’s iconic gold rope-twist handle and knotted-rope feet are showcased to perfection against the gleaming white porcelain of the coffee cup and saucer.
The bases bear the UK design registration lozenge. The code reads 1 February 1869, Parcel No. 7, for a Brown-Westhead, Moore ‘Design for cup form, ropework handle and feet.’ The Brown-Westhead, Moore pattern number, C6028, is legible on the cup bottom. The pattern dates from around 1884
Condition Excellent. A few surface scratches, and a small chip to the bottom rim of the saucer. Otherwise both cup and saucer are in mint condition.
