This Derby coffee can is in the ‘Partridge Pattern,’ so-called for the two fancy birds, painted in blue, orange and gold, perched on a branch. The dominant feature is the gnarled trunk of an old tree, in blue and gold, with red flowers. At the base of a tree, is a green bamboo stalk and other plants. The handle shape is known as ‘wishbone.’

The Derby crossed batons mark is painted in red on the base of the can.
Condition Good. Slight rubbing to gilt rim edge. Light staining to outer base. Fine crazing and some impurities in the glaze.
