A very smart pair of Georgian shanked and waisted tea bowls with saucers from the early days of the John Rose factory at Coalport. Unmarked but the shape and size of the bowls, which have 24 spiral flutes, conform to those made at Coalport in the 1790s (see p. 75 of Coalport, 1795-1926 by Michael Messenger).
Condition Excellent. Some minor gilt rubbing on rim edges, otherwise almost mint. Few specks of kiln dust in glaze and specks of cobalt blue.
