These fine Flight Barr & Barr teacup and saucer are decorated with a formal Neoclassical gilt pattern on salmon ground. The lobed gadrooned rims are of sold gilt and the saucer has a recessed well. The distinctive loop handle of the cup is typically Worcester and has leaf terminals.
Both the cup and saucer have impressed crown, FBB and ‘X’ marks; those on the base of the cup can be more easily discerned.
The Worcester porcelain factory was owned by Joseph Flight, George & Martin Barr between 1813 and 1840.
Condition Very good. Some surface scratches on the saucer well and adjacent area.
