A pearlware plate printed in blue with one of the earliest Ridgway patterns, a finely detailed and well-balanced chinoiserie scene of a pillared temple with pagoda, a Chinese woman with a parasol crossing a bridge, and the eponymous ‘curling palm’ trees near the top.
The printing is of remarkable quality in its intricacy, depth and variation of tone. Unmarked.
CONDITION: In excellent condition with no damage or signs of wear except for a few glaze abrasions, visible only on close inspection.
