Among the most colourful Regency ceramics we have ever seen! Feathery leaves, in gilt and cobalt blue, frame reserves of brightly hand-painted summer flowers and fruits, some whole, others sliced. Gaps between the pointed leaves and the rim are filled with tiny gold dots and single sprays of flowers, while roses adorn the central reserves.
We are not sure which factory made the saucer blanks. They were probably decorated at an independent studio.
Condition Very good. Inside the foot rim of one saucer, and confined to within an impressed ring, there are a few old hairline cracks in the glaze. These are a manufacturing flaw, and do not carry through to the upper surface. Both saucers have some minor gilt rubbing.
