Period: Regency
Maker: New Hall Porcelain Works
The bold and imaginative pattern is a superb example of Regency design creativity. The stylised central flower is a white lotus, with a faux Chinese character covering the stamen. Both basin and lid are in mint condition. The New Hall pattern number, 1160, is painted in small script on the base.
Condition Mint; no wear or damage. During manufacture, there was a partial tear on the neck of the finial where it joins the lid (see close-up photos). The tear does not encircle the neck, and the finial is completely stable.
