This small Regency mug has an appealing flared shape and is painted in warm hues with a cottage and manor house set in a panoramic landscape. One focal point of the landscape encircling the outside of the mug is a riverside manor house reflected in the water. Its counterpoint is a humble half-timbered cottage with a wooden fence running along a country lane. In the cottage foreground are shrubs and a large tree. An outline of distant hills lends perspective and depth.
Condition Hairline crack in base. Some enamel flaking and gilt rubbing.
The mug is unmarked and we have not identified the maker.
