A pretty pair of Rockingham side plates in fine condition. The backstamps date them to the brief reign of King William IV (1830-37). ‘Manufacturer to the King’ was added to backstamps in 1831 when orders were received from royalty.
Marking: Griffin mark printed in puce, together with ‘Rockingham Works/Brameld/Manufacturer to the King.’ The Brameld family owned the Rockingham factory.
