This is one of Spode’s most striking and recognisable early Regency patterns, brightly gilded with stylised flowerheads linked by trailing gold leaves on a cobalt blue band. The Bute cup shape is the earliest produced by Josiah Spode II and the pattern dates from 1805.
Only the pattern number, 893, is painted on the base of the saucer.
Condition Very good.. The cup appears almost perfect. The saucer has some minor gilt rubbing.
