This sumptuous small cabinet plate is one of the earliest Noritake export porcelains. It is painted with pink roses within gilt scroll cartouches on a claret ground profusely embellished with gilding. The central reserve is bordered with gilt scrolls and floral festoons around another group of rose blossoms.
On the base of the plate is the plain blue Maruki or Komaru mark that the company first used for export wares.
Condition Excellent/very good. Some light gilt rubbing (see photos).
